Product Owner

Job Description

The Product Owner will be responsible for defining product vision, managing the product backlog, and delivering healthcare technology solutions that meet business, clinical, patient, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, goals, and priorities.
• Work closely with healthcare stakeholders, clinicians, patients, business teams, and technology teams to identify product needs.
• Gather and analyze requirements from clinical, operational, administrative, and business stakeholders.
• Create and prioritize epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Own and continuously prioritize the product backlog based on business value, user impact, regulatory requirements, and technical dependencies.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, engineering, architecture, QA, data, security, and compliance teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Define clear acceptance criteria and validate completed features against business requirements.
• Coordinate UAT with business and clinical users.
• Monitor product performance using KPIs, analytics, customer feedback, and operational metrics.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, AI, and digital transformation.
• Ensure products comply with applicable healthcare privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage product risks, dependencies, issues, and stakeholder expectations.
• Support product releases, change management, training, and adoption.
• Work with engineering teams to balance business priorities, technical debt, scalability, and product quality.
• Develop product documentation, process flows, business requirements, and release plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management/Product Ownership, preferably within healthcare.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience managing product backlogs and writing user stories.
• Strong requirements-gathering and business-analysis skills.
• Excellent stakeholder and communication skills.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management.
• Experience with UAT, release management, and product metrics.
• Ability to translate complex healthcare workflows into simple, user-focused product requirements.
• CSPO, PSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Certified Product Manager, or healthcare IT certification is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field; Master's/MBA is a plus.
